Kålrosor / Cabbage roses

Grönsaker är tacksamma att göra tryck med, de är vackra i formen, och det är enkelt att göra. Här provade vi en ny grönsak, kinakål. Ett avskuret kinakålshuvud med ett gummiband runt ger fina krusiga blommor, lite som rosor, eller pioner. Projektet för A och mig var att göra kökshanddukar till mommo som fyllde år, så därför fick det bli grafiskt svart. Vi hällde textilfärg på ett fat, och doppade kålhuvudet i färgen, här är det bäst att doppa av överloppsfärgen på ett papper innan man trycket på tyget, annars kommer det för mycket färg. Sen är det bara att göra mönster.

Vegetables gives beautiful prints when cut in halves. This time we tried chinese cabbage, which made big fluffy roselike flowers. Our projct with A was to make teatowels for her grandmoms birthday, so we chose black as the colour. We poured fabric colour on a plate and dipped the cabbage into the colour. Here it is best to print off the extra colour on to a paper before printing on the fabric. Then make rosy patterns.

Vi fick snö i söndags. A och mommo byggde en fin liten snögubbe på gården.

Ett hjärta av guld / A heart of gold

Ett hjärta av guld till någon kär på Alla hjärtans dag.
En toarulle som kapas på mitten, så blir det lagom till små händer, och trycks ihop till ett hjärta. En bit tejp håller formen. Lite guldfärgad akrylfärg på en engångstallrik, och ett papper att trycka på. Detta passar fint till små pysslare.

A heart of gold for Valentines Day.
A toiletpaper roll cut in half, makes a perfect grip for small hands, and formed to a heart. A bit of tape hold the heart shape. Some gold acrylic on a paper plate, and a paper to print on. A nice craft for toddlers.

While we are waiting for the release of the Treasure Boat Exhibition (it is ready and has been sent to BIG Kids Magazine, who will publish it in the end of March, and it will be published here at lilla a too), I thought we might aswell have a new Exhibition up! Don´t you think so too? It is sooo long until the end of March, and we need something to keep us busy.

I really want to do a Shoebox House Exhibition with you again, as this was the very first Exhibition we did here at lilla a, and I still love it. This time, for Shoebox House 2.0 edition, I bet we can build even a higher house. Are you up for it!

Call for entries: Shoebox House 2.0. Open for children all ages, with help from their parents.

Find a shoebox, and design your own room, use paint, paper and fabric scraps, glue, things ( read garbage!) you find around the house that can be used for furniture and other stuff. Make the room like a theather, so that the opening is at the front ( and the bottom of the shoebox works as the backwall of the room).

Take a picture of your shoebox room from the front, straight on, and send it to me, together with the name of who lives here, the occupant, and childs age and name to: lilla.a.design(at)gmail.com. If you have a blogaddress, attach that.

Alla Hjärtansdags hjärtan / Valentines Day Hearts

Klipp ut ett hjärta mitt i ett papper. Lägg hjärtat ovanpå ett annat papper eller kort, fäst det med lite tejp i sidorna så det hålls på stället. Fyll hjärtat med fingeravtryck, använd en stämpelkudde eller lite fingerfärg. Så har du gjort ett färgglatt och personligt hjärta att ge bort till Alla Hjärtansdag.

Cut a heart in the middle of a paper. Place the heart on top of another paper or card, and fix it with a bit of tape. Fill the heartshape with finger prints, use a stamping cushion or some fingerpaint. And you have made a nice personalized heart to give to someone dear for Valentines Day!

Fingerdockor i filt / Finger puppets

Här har ni ett gäng nya roliga bekantskaper. En flicka, två rävar, en prinsessa, ett monster och en älg. Superenkla fingerdockor där vi använde trälim istället för att sy fast detaljerna. Jag förberedde och sydde upp några färdiga modeller i filt, som barnen sedan gick loss på med lim, filt och rullande ögon. L var så glad för sitt egenhändigt pysslade gröna monster att han sov med det i sängen den kvällen.

Easy finger puppets in felt, where we used glue to fix the decorations, instead of sewing. I prepared som ready-made bases in felt, and the kids did the decorations. L was so happy for his self-made green monster he wanted to have it to bed that night.

Tårtpapperstryck / Paper doily print

Jag har sett detta förr, negativa tryck av just tårtpapper. Och då det kom tårtpapper med i paketet från Panduro som vi fick tidigare, så ville jag testa. Jag använde textilfärg med glitter i, och gjorde en liten rund svamp av skumtvättlappar och ett gummiband, man kan också använda en liten tvätt eller disksvamp. Inne i tröjan hade jag en bit kartong, för att förhindra att färgen går igenom. Fixerade färgen genom strykning, och voila, en tröja söt som en bakelse!

I have seen this several times, negative prints with paper doilies. And when it came with the supply box from Panduro, I just needed to try it. I used fabricpaint with glitter, and made a small sponge from foam washclothes and a rubber band. Inside the t-shirt I had a piece of cardboard to protect the bac kside from paint. I fixed the colour by ironing it, and voila, a t-shirt cute as a cupcake!

Vi fick ett fint paket från Panduro hobby, med en massa papper, dekorationer, papperstejp och annat till Alla hjärtansdags pyssel. A tyckte det var himmelriket att få dekorera små söta burkar med allsköns prinsesspynt.

We got a nice package from Panduro, with a lot of scrap booking paper, dekorations and paper tape suitable for Valentines day crafts. A found her selv in princess heaven, decorating little paper jars, over the top.

Jag bad A rita några fåglar som vi kunde hänga upp på en gren. Så föddes ett gäng bulliga gulliga småfåglar, ritade med permanent tusch på stadigare papper och färg lagda med lite orange temperafärg. Man blir så glad av dem.

I asked A to draw some birds for me. And she made me some nice and fat winter birds, using a permanent marker and colouring with some orange tempera, on heavy weight paper. Makes me happy looking at them.

I started blogging 2 years ago, to keep me occupied while staying at home with my 2 kids. L was still a baby, and A was nearly 4 at the time. It has been a great way of trying to show and share ideas in a simple yet describing way. And getting instant feedback! It has challenged me to come up with new ideas for crafts for kids to make, objects I want to have in my home and gifts I think will be well recieved. For me this is about setting up some boundaries for the project, choosing the material and giving the option of 2-3 colours, and then step back and let them express theirselves, only helping when necessary. But everything starts with where my kids have their interest at the moment, and what skills they have. And it is all about having fun.

And I have had a lot of fun blogging! So happy anniversary to lilla a! And thank you to all my readers for coming back and writing nice comments!

Pappa steker pannkakor, A vispar ihop smeten, L står i köket och mamma duschar. Vår bil har fått husvagn, och så drömmer A om en båt att åka på havet med tydligen.

Här åker vi i bilen, pappa kör, A och L sitter på baksätet, och mamma i bakluckan. Bilen har vingar så att vi kan flyga till mommo och moffa.

Det är natt och hela familjen sover i sina sängar. En tjuv smyger runt utanför huset, men vi har låst dörren så han kan inte komma in.

A ritar och ritar. Teckningarna är superdetaljerade och har alla en fantastisk historia till.

A loves to draw. Her drawings have so many details and comes with a great story. Here you see our family cooking, showering, driving our car and sleeping at night.

Fåglar i fönstret / Birds in our Window

L och jag gjorde fina vinterfåglar till fönstret. Jag ritade och skar ut konturen av en enkel fågel på svart kartong, och skar bort ett område inuti. På baksidan strök L lim runt kanten och limmade fast bitar av silkespapper på fågeln. Vi klippte bort det överflödiga silkespappret, och tejpade upp dem på fönstret.

L helped me to make pretty winter birds for our window. Black cardstock, glue and tissue paper. Glue on the back side, and stick the tissue paper to cover the hole inside the bird. Trim the edge, and stick it on the window.

The map is printed with child/environmentally friendly inks and it is printed on study cotton/linen cloth so it is up for taking a good beating. The edges are sealed to prevent excessive fraying and it ties with a ribbon. My son has been playing with his since Christmas and loves it, it has been on all kinds of adventures, depending on whether he is a knight, pirate or ninja!

Helfigur

Klippdockor i helfigur blev det till när vi rullade ut stora pappret på vardagsrumsgolvet och ritade av barnen på det. De blev färglagda och utklippta och upphängda, och nu hajar vi till varje gång vi ser figurerna i ögonvrån, för vi fick plötsligt en uppsättning barn mer! A ritade både krona och klackskor med rosett på sin!

Fullsize dolls. We rolled out the big paper on the floor and traced around both kids. After colouring and cutting them out, they came up on the doors. Now the new set of kids startle us everytime we see them in the corner of our eye.

Att vika en papperspåse

Jag är inte så mycket för att slå in vackra paket och dekorera på olika sätt, jag menar, de rivs ju ändå sönder genast och där var det. Presentpåsar däremot, det tycker jag är smart av nån anledning. Ännu smartare tyckte jag det var då vi gjorde egna påsar till jul. Instruktioner till dessa hittade jag på flera ställen på nätet.

I don't really put much effort in wrapping gifts, to be honest I think it is a waist of time as they get ripped apart immidiately. But I do like gift bags, so much smarter. Even more smart when we made our own for some Christmasgifts. Instructions for these I found around the internet.

En julklapp vi gjorde, och som jag inte ville visa innan julafton, var denna kalender. Granit har tomma kalendrar där man bara klistrar in en teckning för varje månad och på så vis får en fin och mycket personlig kalender.

Barnens grytunderlägg

Vita kakelplattor blir fina grytunderlägg med lite porslinsfärg. De ska torka i 24 timmar och sedan brännas i vanlig ugn i en dryg halvtimme vid 150 grader. När de har svalnat får de möbeltassar i filt undertill. Fina julklappar det också.

White ceramic tiles becomes nice pot stands with some porcelain paint. After drying for24 h they go in the oven for 35 min 150 degrees celsius. When cooled down they get some stick-on floor protectors on the backside. Nice Christmas gifts aswell.

Snabbstöpta ljus i formar

Ett enkelt tips på hur man gör egna ljus genom att smälta om värmeljus i nya fina formar. Du behöver små metallformar ( vi använde små muffinsformar i metall ), värmeljus ( vi beräknade att det gick precis 2 värmeljus i varje av dessa formar, vilket det också gjorde ), ett ugnsfast fat att lägga upp dem på och en ugn. Ta ut värmeljusen ur sina hållare, stapla 2 värmeljus ovanpå varann i muffinsformen genom att ta bort det övre ljusets veke och trä detta ned över det undre ljusets veke. Ställ formarna på ett fat, så du kan få dem in i ugnen, och så skyddar du ugnen om det skulle rinna över kanten. Värm ugnen (obs inte mikron, eftersom vi har metalldelar i detta ) och ställ in formarna. På hög värme smälter stearinet snabbt, och du kan ta ut dem igen medan det fortfarande är osmälta klumpar idet, de smälter färdigt i det varma stearinet och fyller formen. När de börjar stelna kan du försiktigt räta upp veken så den hamnar i mitten igen. Låt de stelna. Vi ger bort våra i julklapp, så vi har inte provat dem än.

A simple way of making your own candles by melting tealights into new shapes. You will need small metal forms ( we used small cupcake tins), tea lights ( we calculated we could have 2 tea lights in each, and it was right ), and ovenproof plate and an oven.
Take out the tea lights from their holders and stack 2 tea lights on top of each other by letting the lower candle´s wick go through the top one too. Put the forms on the plate and put it in a reheated oven ( note: not the micro wave as there is metalparts here ). The candles melt quickly, and you can take them out again when there is still lumps of unmelted candle, as it will melt in the hot mixture. Before they start to harden you can straighten the wick a bit. Let the harden and give them away for Christmas.

Detta är årets julgran. Vi har aldrig haft så stor julgran förr, vi brukar inte fira julen här hemma, och då brukar det kännas onödigt att ha en stor gran. Men samtidigt, det är så fint att ha gran, och i år är vi största delen av julen ändå hemma. Så i år åkte vi ut till en julgransodling och sågade en gran själv, och då kan man ju inte ta den minsta granen. Pyntet består till mesta delen av enkla julgransbollar och egna juldekorationer, och barnen klädde granen med tanken "more is more". Allt åkte upp. Ljusslingan räckte inte hela vägen, men det syns nästan inte, där den står i hörnet. Så fin.

This years Christmas tree. We never used to have such a big tree before, as we are always away for Christmas, and then it feels unnecessary to have much more than a small one. But this year, as we will spend parts of the Christmas at home, we wanted to have a proper tree. We went out to a tree plantation to cut our own tree, and then you simply can't take a smaller tree. The decorations are mostly simple balls and homemade decorations, and the kids decorated with the device "more is more". All decorations went up. I love it.

Enklaste julgodiset att göra hemma, och som barnen kan göra själva, nästan i alla fall! Börja med att tvätta händerna noga, detsamma gäller bordet ni jobbar på!

250 g mandelmassa/marsipan

ca. 150 g choklad, vi hade 50 % mörkchoklad

Forma mandelmassan till små kulor, eller sniglar, hjärtan, ormar mm, den är lätt att jobba med för små fingrar. Smält chokladen över ett vattenbad eller i en skål i micron. Doppa mandelmassefigurerna i chokladen, hjälp till med en sked. Låt överloppschokladen rinna av innan ni lägger ned kulorna på ett fat. Låt dem stelna. De som vill ha lite fräsigare kulor, strör över lite flagad mandel, kokosflingor, strössel eller annat över kulorna innan chokladen stelnat.

This is the easiest Christmas sweets ever, the kids can make it by themselves, well almost. Start by washing your hands carefully, and the table too!

250 g marzipan

ca 150 g chocolate, we used 50 % dark chocolate

Form the marzipan to small balls, or snails, hearts, snakes or whatever you like. The marzipan is easy for small hands to work with. Melt the chocolate over a waterbath or in the microwave. Dip the marzipan balls into the chocolate, use a spoon to roll them around. Let the extra chocolate drip off the balls before lifting them over to a plate to harden. For fancier chocolates sprinkle some flake almonds, coconut flakes or other sprinkles over the balls when the chocolate is still melted.

Drillenissen på besök

Vi fick Drillenissen ( den danska bustomten ) med hem på besök från dagis i går. Och oj så mycket han ställde till med under natten medan vi alla sov. Han färgade mjölken rosa, bytte ut morgonflingorna mot legoklossar, tog ned alla paketen i paketkalendern och gömde dem i sin säck och band knut på A´s alla kläder! Vilken tokig tomte, och sån tur att han ska hem till nästa barn i dag!

Jag kan inte logga in på lilla as facebook sida i ögonblicket, så den blir inte uppdaterad. EDIT: Problemet löst!

We got the Drillenisse ( the Danish teasing gnomb ) home from kindergarten for a visit yesterday. And what a mess he made during the night when we all were asleep. He coloured the milk pink, changed the cerials to legos, hid all the gifts in the calendar in his sack and tied knots on A´s clothes! What a naughty gnomb, luckily he is going home with some other kid today!

Vi släppte lös A med limpistolen på en krans bunden av grenar. Och hon limmade på allt fint vi kunde hitta i pyssellådorna. Helt galen blev den, men fin.

We let A loose with the glue gun on a premade wreath. And she glued on all the pretty things she found in the crafts supply drawers. Totally crazy, but still very nice.

Jag fick tag på tatueringspapper för ett tag sedan, sånt papper man kan printa ut sina egna tatueringar på. Idag sammanställde jag några av A´s teckningar till ett ark tatueringar. Printade, klippte ut bilden, pillade av skyddspappret och klistrade fast. Så nu springer båda barnen runt med prinsessor och hjärtan på armarna. Får se hur länge de sitter på...

I got some tattoo paper a while ago, for making your own tattoos. Today I put some of A´s drawings together and printed them. We cut out the picture, peeled off the protective paper and stuck it on. Now both kids are having princesses and hearts on their arms. Let's see for how long they will last...

Måla konst

Konst eller inte, detta verk målade barnen till vardagsrums väggen. På en stor canvas har de målat med akrylfärg. De har målat i omgångar, under flera kvällar i rad så att det hunnit torka innan nästa lager. Ca 10-15 minuter räckte koncentrationen varje gång, och sedan direkt i badet. Vägg och golv har vi skyddat med papp. Jag har valt färg, 2-4 olika per omgång, och de har målat fritt, och vi bara svängde på canvasen ett par gånger för att få mer variation. Vi är supernöjda med resultatet, och ska helt klart måla fler tavlor snart igen. Nu ska jag bara måla väggen helvit först.

Art or not, this canvas was created by both kids for the livingroom wall. They have painted in several sessions, to let it dry in between. Concentration lasted for about 10-15 min, and then it was straight to the bath. Walls and floor was protected with paper. I chose the colours, 2-4 each time, and then it was free painting, we just turned the canvas a couple of times to get more variation. We are so happy with the result, and will be painting more very soon again. I just have to paint the wall white first.

Enkel bilmatta gör man med en bit slät heltäckningsmatta och akrylfärg. Denna matta är en bit på 1x1,5 m som jag skar av den rest vi har kvar från detta projekt. Jag har länge velat göra just en bilmatta, och fick en spark i rätt riktning då jag såg denna fina hos Time of the Aquarius. Jag tejpade upp grovt hur jag ville ha den, och så målade jag på fri hand. Detaljerna, som hus och övergångsställen klippte jag ut i papper och använde det som stencil. Det var skoj att göra, att få planera ihop ett enkelt landskap och trafiksystem, fast moffa-trafikplaneraren har säkert synpunkter på detta. Men titta jag fick till en rondell också!

A simple car mat made of a piece of carpet and some acrylic paint. This mat is 1x1,5 m, a leftover from this project. I have wanted to make a car mat for a long time, and this at Time of the Aquarius made me decide to go ahead. I taped it down roughly, and painted on free hand. Details were made by cutting it out in paper and use it as a stencil. It was very fun to make, I don´t think the trafical planner grandfather agrees with all the solutions though. But look I made a roundabout, this is one of my favourite English words.

I got some requests about selling the poster I made as a round up of the Robot Exhibition, so here it is. Before I go and have the prints done, I need to know how many would actually be interested in buying it. If 10 people order it, the price will be 20€ (28$) plus shipment. If more than 10 people order it, the price will go down to 15€ plus shipment.

The print is 42x60 cm (A2 format) printed on posterpaper, and will be sold in my Etsy shop later this week.

Ljusstakar av flaskor

Jag vet att det bara är november, men vi har redan börjat julpyssla...

Några fina glasflaskor fick en tur med en konturpenna man målar på glas med, och två lager vit sprayfärg. Så fick vi ett gäng nya ljusstakar. Vi gjorde varsin jag och barnen, L fick lite hjälp med sin.

Att få loss etiketterna från glasflaskor och burkar, tycker jag går lättast om man låter dem ligga en halvtimme i varmt vattenbad, innan man skrapar bort etiketten och limmet med en vanlig bordskniv. De sista limresterna gnuggar jag bort med en trasa med lite hushållssprit.

It´s the beginning of November and we have allready started on the Christmas crafts...

A couple of nice glass bottles had some decorations with a contourpen for glaspainting, and two coates of white spray paint. And we got ourselves new candleholders. We made one each, L got some help with his.

To remove the labels on glass containers, I have found that soaking them for half an hour in warm water and then scrape the paper and the glue off with a knife is the best trick. The last remains of the glue I rub off with a cloth and ethanol.

Maracas

Hemmagjorda maracas! Två små, urdiskade plastflaskor med torkade kikärter och röda linser i. Genom att ha olika ingredienser i flaskorna får man olika ljud. Jag skruvade locket på hårt, så de inte går att öppna med små fingrar, men man kan välja att limma fast dem också. Chicki chicki, så vi har spelat och dansat ikväll!

Homemade maracas from 2 small, cleaned plastic bottles with dried chickpeas and red lentils inside. By using 2 different ingredients we got 2 different sounds. You can choose to glue the lid on, I just screwed it really tight. Shake it baby, and we have danced tonight!

Böckling

Där jag kommer från hänger man upp strömmingen genom ögat då man röker den, och kallar den böckling. Därav namnet på dessa fina fiskar vi gjorde till lekköket, de såg ut som böcklingar då de hängde på tork. De är enkelt gjorda av ett set billiga målarpenslar i trä, från den stora möbelbutiken, där vi sågade bort borst-delen. Målade med akrylfärg och dekorerade med tusch.

Where I come from they smoke the baltic herring by hanging it by the eye, and it is called böckling. So this was what came to my mind when I saw our fish hanging to dry. Easy fish made from a set cheap paint brushes, from the big furniture store. We cut off the brush part and painted with acrylic paint, decorated with markers.

Can you belive how many wonderful Robots we got gathered here, pretty amazing. We got Robots that can climb walls, dance ballet, read storie, cook, play music, but not the ukulele. Or what about work in childrens hospitals, play drums in a band when the drummer wants to be with his kids, and one can even do everything.

En påse full med äpplen

En påse full med fallfrukt, vackra röda äpplen, om än med några skönhetsfläckar. Vi trädde upp dem på ett snöre till en höstdekoration. Kunde bli en fin present till småfåglarna nu när det blir kallare nu. Förra året gjorde vi denna.

A bag full of fallen fruit makes a nice fall garland of apples. Last year we made this.

Pizza Vegetariana

Rykande varm, direkt ur ugnen (vi får leka att vi har en ugn i lekköket, för den rationaliserade jag bort när jag byggde köket) bjuder jag på en pizza. Grönsaker gör sig bäst i filt tycker jag, skinka, korv eller tonfisk ser inte så inbjudande ut, så det blev en helvegetarisk pizza. Kanske barnen kan börja vänja sig vid att äta grönsaker på riktig pizza också, om vi börjar med denhär?!

Straight from the owen ( we are pretending we have one in the new playkitchen, as I did not build one..) I am serving pizza today. As I think vegetables are more fun in felt, and looks better than ham, sausage or tuna, this turned out to be a vegetarian one. Maybe the kids will learn to love their veggies if we practice on this first?!

Lekköket

Äntligen, äntligen har jag fått byggt ett riktigt lekkök till barnen. Det som engång var A´s ritbord, och som sen fick vara plats åt dockhuset har nu blivit ett riktigt lekkök. Bordsskivan har en nedsänkt plastbalja som diskho, 4 glasunderlägg i kork målade svarta som spis och en påmålad rutig bordduk som bordsyta. Spis knapparna är plastgrepp från Ikea. På väggen bakom satte jag upp en bit kakelmönstrad tapet, och skruvade upp två hängare med tillhörande diskställ från Ikea. Leksaksmaten på hyllan är diverse tyg- och trämat och lite rendiskade plåt- och plastburkar. Och som här leks, lillebror kokar och kokar, från morgon till kväll, när han inte kör med sina traktorer förstås.

Finally I got a proper playkitchen for the kids! What once was A´s drawing table is now turned into a kitchen table with a plastic bowl as a sink, 4 drink coasters in cork painted black as a stove and a painted checked tablecloth. On the wall above I put up some wallpaper and fixed 2 racks from Ikea with a dish drainer. On the shelf there is space for the playfood and dinnerware. It is a success, especially littlebrother spend a lot of time here cooking.

Att återanvända strumpbyxor

Ett par strumpbyxor, med hål på ena benet, ja vad gör man med dem? Vi gjorde en kanin.

Klippte av ett halvt ben, det som var helt, och stoppade foten med vadd. Knöt till små armar och ben, och i toppen. Hälen blev ansiktet. Flätade två flätor till öron, och sydde på knappar till ögon, och nos. Om man istället ritar dit ögon och nos, så kan man göra den helt utan att sy, plättlätt!

A couple of tights, with a hole on the leg, what to do with those? We made a rabbit.

Cut off half a leg, the one without the hole, and stuff the foot with filling. Make small arms and legs and tie them thight. The heal becomes the face. Braid two ears for it, and sew buttons for eyes, and a nose. If you instead draw the eyes and nose, you can make it without any sewing! Easy.

Barnmöbel

Den allra mest uppskattade "möbeln" i vårt hem just nu, är en madrass. Madrassen används till allehanda lek- och gymnastikuppvisningar, som rutchbana ned från soffan, till hopp, dans och kullerbyttor ( om moster K läser, så vet hon vilken "move" som är till henne). Barnen hoppar sig svettiga och glada kväll efter kväll. Ibland behöver det inte vara mer komplicerat än som så.

Och när den inte används bor den snällt bakom soffan. Nu har madrassen fått nytt överdrag av ett tyg jag hittade på Ikea, tyckte det behövdes. Fint.

The one piece of "furniture" we enjoy the most at this moment is this mattress. It is used for gymnastics and dancing, and as a slide down from the sofa. Each night before bedtime the kids jump around getting all warm and happy. It does not have to be more complicated than this. And when it is not in use, it stays behind the sofa. Now the mattress got a new cover from a fabric I found at Ikea. I like it.

Målade pinnar

Vi hittade fina släta granpinnar på ett kalhygge i skogen i söndags. De blev ännu finare då A målade dem i turkos, rosa och guld.

Mera "doodling"

Vi köpte fönstertusch i pappans favoritbutik Biltema. Med de kan man rita direkt på fönstret, och sen hoppas jag att de går att tvätta bort också, jag har ännu inte provat. Lite svårt att se, både på fönstret och på bild, men rätt kul. Det går säkert lika bra med whiteboard pennor också.

EDIT: Det var inga problem att tvätta bort!

We got some windowmarkers. Easy to draw, straight on the window, and is hopefully easy to wipe off too, I have not tried it yet..

EDIT: They came off without any problems!

"Doodling"

Jag har en låda med gamla fotografier, researchbilder från studietiden och suddiga semesterbilder. Idag tog jag fram lådan och vi underhöll oss med att rita vidare på dem. Det är roligt att se hur L fokuserar på det väsentliga i bilder då han ritar, som mun och ögon, medan A ritar mönster eller ritar vidare på den berättelse hon ser, som att lägga till lite kycklingklubbor i stekpannan med min studiemat på ris och bönor... Vi använde permanent tusch och posca pennor (den vita och rosa), vilket inte riktigt var ägnat åt en liten L som också tycker att armar och ansikte ibland ska dekoreras.

I found a box of old photos, research pictures from my studies and blurry holiday pictures. Today I took it out and we had some fun with it. It was funny to see how L focused on the important parts of the picture, as eyes and mouth, while A drew patterns or telled stories around what was in it, like adding chicken legs to my student dinner of rice and beans... We used permanent markers and posca pens, which was not really a media for little L who likes to decorate arms and face too.

Gör dina egna styltor av det du har i köket!

Du behöver: 2 rena yoghurt burkar (av typen grekisk yoghurt, 1 kg), grövre snöre, 4 stora träpärlor, syl, sax, akrylfärg eller färgad kontaktplast att dekorera med.

Gör så här: 1. Ta av handtaget på burken. 2. Gör 2 hål i sidan på burken med en syl eller sax, ca. 1 cm från burkens botten, mitt emot varandra. 3. Mät upp en lämplig längd på snöret, från foten upp till din hand och ned igen, och trä igenom ändorna i hålen. 4. Fäst snöret genom att knyta fast en träpärla på snöret på insidan av burken. 5. Dekorera burken, jag använde svart kontaktplast som jag klippte i trianglar, men det går utmärkt att måla med akrylfärg. 6. Gör samma med burk nummer 2.

Kastanje-djur med pärlor

En giraff, en prinsessa, en kanin och en elefant blev det bland annat när vi gjorde kastanje djur. Jag fick göra hål i kastanjerna med en pryl, efter att A visat hur de skulle byggas. Vi trädde på Hama-pärlor på tändstickorna, för att göra dem lite roligare, pärlorna passade precis.

A giraf, a princes, a rabbit and an elephant among some other animals, chestnuts, matches and Hama-beads. I made the holes with awl, and A put the matches in.

Hello everyone! There has been a long time since the last exhibition, so what do you say, should we have one again?!
The Build a Robot Exhibition is open for all children, with a little help from their parents.

Find your parts to build with around the house, in the garbage bin or whereever! Build it together with glue, tape, screws or anything, and paint and decorate it as much as you like. Take a picture of your Robot on a white background.
Send the picture in to lilla.a.design(at)gmail.com.

To enter:
1. Photo of the Robot on a white background

2. Name of the Robot, and tell us a bit about the Robot, what it can do, how it works etc. Max. 30 words.
2. Name and age of participant, blog adress (if you have one). Also for old time participants!

Allt gott från hösten-fat

L och jag plockade en korg full med fina höstlöv, kastanjer, rönnbär och prydnadsäpplen i parken idag. Lycklig är en liten man som stegar fram med egen korg.

Hemma arrangerade vi det hela på en stor bricka, och planterade sedan svamparna vi gjorde här, och lät kott-djuren härifrån flytta in. Det blev ett fint höstlandskap som A lekte länge med hela kvällen.

Little L and I picked a basket full of fall treasures today at the park, and we arranged it on a big tray into a fall playscape. We planted the mushrooms we made here on the tray, and let the pine cone creatures from here move in. A played with it for hours.

Skogssvampar

Det växer svampar på vår stubbe i vardagsrummet... Självtorkande lera, lite tålanmod och akrylfärg.

There is growing mushrooms in our living room... Self-hardening clay, some patience and acrylic paint.

Kott-kryp

Kottdjur gör man enkelt genom att limma på tändsticksben på en kotte, och några ögon! A använde limpistol, och sprutade rejäl med lim ned mellan fjällen innan hon tryckte ned tändstickan. Sen tyckte hon att det var behov för lite dekoration med glitterlim, så det fick de. Vi har ännu inte helt lyckats ta reda på vilken art de tillhör, skrottar eller får.

Cone creatures with legs of matches, and some goggly eyes. We have not yet figured out what kind of species they are, insects or sheep.

Krukor doppade i färg

Jag piggade upp några gamla krukor med lite tavellack, jag hade lite kvar i en burk. Jag hällde upp färgen i en djup tallrik, som jag först skyddade med en plastpåse. Sen blandade jag ut färgen med lika mycket vatten för att få den lagom tunn och rinnande. Så doppade jag bottnen/toppen av krukan i färgen, och vände den upponer, så att färgen rann neråt längs krukan. Jag hade snålat med färgen, så jag fick bättra på med en pensel som jag tryckte med längs kanten, så att mer färg kunde rinna ner. Ett halvt dygn senare hade de torkat, och vi planterade kryddor i dem.

Pots dipped in blackboard paint. I mixed the paint with half water to make it thin and running, had a plastic bag to cover the deep plate I had the paint in. I then dipped the end of the pot, and turned it upside down to dry for half a day. Pimped pots, perfect for our herbs.
